 Summer Reading List

Hours of Operation:        7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

  • The library is open before school.  (7:30 - 8:10 am)

  • After school, parents must accompany students to check out books from the library. (3:00 - 3:15pm)

Objectives of the Media Center Program

  • To provide students with materials and services appropriate and meaningful to personal growth and development.

  • To stimulate interest in reading and to guide students' intellectual progress, so that they may find increasing enjoyment and satisfaction in the act of reading.

  • To help children become skillful and discriminating users of the library.

  • To work with teachers in the selection and use of all types of library media materials, which contribute to the teaching program.

Library Policies

  • Our library is open at all times throughout the day to allow students to utilze the library at point of need.  Teachers may send two-three students at a time or they may reserve an extra time period to bring their entire class for research activities or group lesson in the library media center.

  • Students visiting the library must bring their shelf marker card to show that they have permission to be out of class.

  • Students are encouraged to check out books within their ZPD to ensure success in the AR Program (This reading range is used as a guide and is assessed by the Star Reading Test)
